Year-Old Birthday Party Locations in Vancouver, Washington

by James Roland

Birthday party locations for kids who are a year old in Vancouver, Washington, range from local attractions to national chain franchises. Ask facility staffers what they do to accommodate toddlers. Some have special zones that separate toddlers from big kids to ensure their safety. Some also require parents to attend with their children.

Kids Club Fun and Fitness

Kids Club Fun and Fitness (kidsclubfunandfitness.com) is a large indoor play center in Vancouver for kids of all ages. It's located at 13914 NW 3rd Court and features an indoor pool, a cafe, three gymnasiums and a huge jungle gym with tubes and slides. For 1-year-olds it has a 1,500-square-foot play gym with padded areas for toddlers to climb, jump and throw plastic balls. It's a self-contained room with seating for parents. You can book a party there or in a room with inflatable bounce toys just right for toddlers. Party packages include an hour of activity time and a private party room. Pizza, cake and goody bags are also available for an extra fee.

McDonald's

Fast-food restaurant staple McDonald's (mcdonalds.com) is another birthday destination with an indoor play area. Vancouver has two locations: one at 2110 E. 4th Plain Blvd. and one at 2814 NE Andresen Road. Birthday packages include Happy Meals, a cake, decorations and time in the McDonald's Play Place, a large molded jungle gym with crawl tubes and slides. The location on 4th Plain Blvd. is one of a handful in the country with modern finishes, a flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi.

Build-A-Bear Workshop

The Build-A-Bear Workshop (buildabear.com) in Vancouver is located in the Westfield Vancouver Mall. Parents must accompany each child age 3 and younger. Staffers guide parents and toddlers through the process of creating their own stuffed animals, then lead them through circle time games. If you choose, you can pay for little guests to be able to pick out an outfit or accessory for each stuffed animal as well. Party packages require a minimum of six children. Food is not allowed in the store. Staffers suggest you use the mall's food court.

Chuck E. Cheese

The Vancouver Chuck E. Cheese (chuckecheese.com) is located at 7721 NE Vancouver Plaza Drive. It's a restaurant with indoor playground equipment and games. It separates children by age using different playrooms, and it has an area designed just for toddlers. Little ones can play there and then eat lunch. Two-hour party packages are priced per toddler and include food, drinks, tokens and a blow-up birthday crown. Food options are limited to pizza, so you may need to bring more toddler-friendly items to eat.
