How to Word an Elmo Invitation

by Monica Patrick

Elmo is a fun-loving, childlike Muppet character from the classic children's television show, "Sesame Street." Young children, especially those between 2 and 6 years of age, look forward to watching Elmo because of his sweet voice and distinctive way of speaking. After choosing this fuzzy, red creature as your child's party theme, make the invite more special by wording the invite with third person phrases, just like Elmo. Find invites that feature the monster's happy face or make your own with red construction paper.

Step 1

Open the invitation and write important information like the date, time and duration of the party on the left side of the card, using a red pen. Write a headline at the top of the page that says, "Elmo Has a Question!" Another good headline idea is "Who Does Elmo Love?"

Step 2

Write a few sentences or a poem on the right side of the page. Some examples include: "Will you join Elmo in celebrating Ryan's birthday? or "Dorothy says, "It's Jane's Birthday Party!" Draw a picture of Elmo's pet goldfish in her bowl.

Step 3

Sign the bottom of the card using a close like, "Love" or "Hugs." Help your child sign his name and then print Elmo's name in block letters using a red crayon.
