Vancouver International Airport offers a major entry point into Canada for travelers around the world. This bustling airport is located south of downtown Vancouver on Sea Island. International travelers gaze upon the nearby Fraser River and North Shore Mountains upon arrival. Jet setters passing through this airport are only minutes from attractions like the Vancouver Art Gallery. The airport’s location allows tourists to select from hotels in different sections of the Vancouver metro area.

Sea Island

Travelers need not venture far from the airport with accommodations at Sea Island hotels. Each guest room at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport features a telescope for views of surrounding mountains and rivers. This Sea Island hotel provides unique services like a free fish freezer that can be used for local purchases and catches. The Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel allows guests to view the Fraser River using large windows in their rooms. Guests staying on the Signature Club level are able to access drinks, breakfast entrees and finger foods at the 24-hour lounge.

Richmond

The Richmond riverfront offers several hotel options only 10 minutes south of the Vancouver International Airport. Patrons of the Sandman Hotel Vancouver Airport are welcomed with leather benches and trees in the lobby. Moxie’s Classic Grill adjacent to the lobby serves burgers and seafood in a casual dining room. The Accent Inn Vancouver Airport provides accommodations ranging from basic rooms to spacious suites. Guests work with the front desk to arrange discount passes to Steve Nash Sports Club as well as tour reservations. Airline kiosks located on the hotel’s first floor speed up the check-in process at the airport.

Southern Vancouver

Hotels in southern Vancouver keep travelers across the Fraser River from Sea Island. The Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel decorates each guest room in earthy tones and framed nature paintings. An upgrade to a standard suite adds a kitchenette and a dining room with large table for homemade meals. The Vancouver Airport Hotel Inn attracts families by offering free accommodations for kids under 18 with their legal guardians. Guests find entertainment at Hippo’s Sports Bar & Grill as well as the Town & Country Bowling Centre on the hotel’s first floor.

Downtown Vancouver

Downtown Vancouver hosts a variety of hotels and inns only 20 minutes north of the airport. The Granville Island Hotel adds rustic touches to each room like hardwood floors, wood blinds and cherry night stands. Guests sit down for locally caught seafood while looking out on the marina at the hotel’s Dockside Restaurant. Each suite at the Landis Hotel & Suites includes two bedrooms, a full-sized kitchen and a dining room with city views. This downtown hotel caters to active travelers who burn off calories at the indoor pool and sauna.
