Kennesaw, Georgia is located in the Atlanta area in northern Cobb County. According to the city's website (kennesaw-ga.gov), Family Circle magazine included Kennesaw in a list of the top 10 best towns for families. Residents of Kennesaw can select from several options when ordering electricity, natural gas, phone service, television service and Internet service.


Georgia Power (georgiapower.com) provides electricity to Kennesaw. You can choose from several rate plans. Actual usage determines the monthly cost of some plans, while average usage and other factors determine the monthly cost of other plans. A discount is available for senior citizens. Cobb Electric Membership Corporation (Cobb EMC) (cobbemc.com) provides electricity and offers rate plans similar to those that Georgia Power offers. Customers who are at least 65 and are living on a fixed income are eligible for a senior exemption. A wholesale power adjustment appears on your bill. It reflects the current wholesale cost of electricity, and may be a credit or debit.

Natural Gas

Atlanta Gas Light Company (aglc.com) distributes natural gas to Kennesaw and maintains the gas lines, but does not sell it directly to consumers. On its website, the company provides a list of certified marketers and explains how to choose one. Georgia Natural Gas (georgianaturalgas.com) and Infinite Energy (infiniteenergy.com) are among the certified marketers that deliver natural gas through Atlanta Gas Light Company. Cobb EMC offers natural gas to its members through Gas South, which offers fixed and variable rate plans.


AT&T; (bellsouth.com) provides home phone service with unlimited local calling. Unlimited long-distance calling and calling features such as caller ID, call waiting ID and 3-way calling are available. Comcast (comcast.com) provides home phone service with unlimited local and long-distance calling plus low-cost international calling. Caller ID, selective call forwarding and online access to voice mail are included along with other calling features.

Cable and Satellite Television

Comcast provides XFinity Digital TV service to Kennesaw with 80 to 270 digital channels. AT&T; provides U-verse TV service with 80 to 410 channels. Local channels and Spanish channels are optional. DIRECTV (directv.com) provides satellite TV service with 150 to 285 digital channels. DISH Network (dishnetwork.com) provides satellite TV service with 60 to 260 channels.


Comcast provides high-speed Internet service to Kennesaw through a broadband connection with speeds up to 15 Mbps.
