How to Get Titles to Unknown Songs on iTunes

by Wesley DeBoy

It can be confusing sorting through a list of unknown songs in your iTunes library. Fortunately, you can use the iTunes "Get CD Track Names" feature to find the titles of unknown songs in your iTunes library. This function will access the CDDB database and match your unknown song with the correct title and artist information. However, an Internet connection is needed to complete this task.

Step 1

Connect your computer to the Internet.

Step 2

Open iTunes.

Step 3

Highlight the unknown songs in your iTunes library for which you want to get titles. Control-click the unknown songs to select multiple songs at a time.

Step 4

Click the "Advanced" menu and select "Get CD Track Names." After iTunes retrieves information from the CDDB database, it will replace the unknown tracks with this information.
