When planning a party for a tractor lover, John Deere offers theme options for children of all ages. Whether for a kid or a grown-up kid at heart, a John Deere-themed party helps celebrate any special event. John Deere party decor options include the traditional colors of green and yellow for the tough-guy in your life as well as a pink and white option, with flowers and butterflies, for your tough-girl.
Create John Deere party invitations. Set up a template for the invitation on a blank word processing document.
Copy and paste an image of a John Deere tractor image at the top of the blank document. Type the invitation wording and party details below the tractor image. Check for any errors in spelling and grammar and make any necessary corrections.
Print out the invitations on yellow and green paper.
Decorate the party area with John Deere colors -- green and yellow for boys, and pink and white for girls.
Hang colored balloons and crepe paper streamers around the party area.
Add a farm look to the party area by including farm theme posters, tractor toys and stuffed or Mylar balloon farm animals. Spread a checkered tablecloth on the party table and a add replica John Deere tractor for the centerpiece.
Games and ActivitiesStep 1
Prepare games and activities with a country or farm theme such as "Tape the Wheel on the Tractor" -- a takeoff on Pin The Tail on the Donkey -- or "Moo-sical Cow."
Draw or tape a picture of a tractor on a poster board with one wheel missing for "Tape the Wheel on the Tractor." Hang the poster on a wall or easel. Draw wheels on construction paper, cut out a wheel shape for each child and put a small piece of tape on the back of each wheel. Blindfold the kids and let them take turns taping the wheel on the tractor.
Position six or seven chairs in a circle and have one party guest sit in each chair. Play music in the background and have the seated kids pass a stuffed animal around the circle. Stop the music, and the person holding the stuffed animal when the music stops must leave of the game. Keep playing this way until only one player remains.
Reward each child with a take-home prize for participating in the games and activities.
Food and DrinksStep 1
Prepare sandwiches for the children at the party using foods such as sliced cold cuts or peanut butter and jelly. Use a cookie cutter shaped like a tractor or farm animals to make the sandwiches coordinate with the theme. Prepare hot foods such as corn on the cob or meatballs with pasta. Have party foods such as sliced fruit and vegetables on hand for adult guests or chaperons. For example, apples, grapes, carrots, broccoli florets and celery sticks with ranch or bleu cheese dip.
Bake a large sheet cake and decorate it like a farm by adding green frosting for "grass." Add a tractor cake topping and barn animals. You can find the supplies at a party store.
Make drinks such as "moo-moo milkshakes" using 2 cups of milk, 2 cups of berries, nine scoops of vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt and three bananas. Blend the bananas, berries and milk, then add the ice cream or yogurt, and blend for one or two minutes.
