Moderate annual temperatures in south Florida make for great camping weather, and visitors drawn to Orlando’s Thousand Trails campground can enjoy this “home away from home” almost any time of year. The 255-acre campground provides an array of resort-like amenities as well as outdoor recreation and special events for guests. Located less than ten miles from many of Orlando’s famous theme parks, Thousand Trails provides close access to family fun.
Pack up the RV and enjoy one of Thousand Trails’ 850 full hook-ups, which accommodate RVs up to 45 feet long with both back-in and pull-through spaces. Those in need of lodging can choose from the campground’s 21 trailers and nine Getaway cabins. Sites are based on availability and may fill up quickly during the peak season.
Guests have access to the campground’s on-site features that include restrooms and showers as well as laundry facilities. A dump station is available for RV use. For certain camping supplies, the campground has an on-site general store. Wi-Fi internet access provides a direct link for web surfers. Visitors can feel at ease with the campground’s 24-hour security.
Sports are aplenty at Thousand Trails. Enjoy time on the volleyball, tennis and shuffleboard courts, or check out the fitness center. Guests can stroll down a nature trail for bird watching or fish on the area’s Lake Hancock. Two heated outdoor pools and hot tubs add to the list of things to do. Kids can enjoy the ground’s recreation room with ping pong and pool tables and video games, while outside they can partake in a game of horseshoes or play on the playground. Weekly dances, church services, live entertainment and potluck dinners help keep both long and short-term guests engaged.
Thousand Trails is conveniently located nine miles from Walt Disney World, Epcot Center and MGM Studios. Other nearby theme parks include Universal Studios at 20 miles away and Sea World at 25 miles. Gatorland, the “Alligator Capitol of the World,” is also located approximately 20 miles from the campground.
