Camelback Mountain is in Tannersville, Pennsylvania and just a few miles from the New Jersey/Pennsylvania border in the Pocono Mountains. The resort features skiing and snowboarding in winter and an outdoor water park in summer. Because the area bills itself as a tourist destination, visitors will find plenty of activities.

    Outdoors

At the top of Camelback Mountain, visitors will find Big Pocono State Park, a 1,300-acre park that partly includes the Camelback ski area. The park is run by the state park system. After driving to the top, people can see great views of the Pocono Mountains as well as portions of New Jersey and New York. It closes in mid-December and reopens in the spring as conditions permit. The park also features more than 8 miles of hiking with steep inclines and grades. The state also allows horseback riding on certain trails as well as roads for vehicles. During the hunting season, more than 800 acres are open to hunters. Park hours are sunrise to sunset. Don't miss the spectacular views of the fall foliage.
