Whether you are vacationing on the sunny shores of La Jolla or venturing inland to La Costa, the San Diego area beckons visitors to experience a wealth of outdoor activities in an idyllic, year-round climate. La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club

An oceanfront hotel in north San Diego, the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club offers an array of recreational amenities highlighted by championship tennis and par-three golf. With 59 rooms that face the water, the resort presents 98 guest rooms, plus two- and three-bedroom suites with full kitchens. La Costa Resort and Spa

Home to a host of prestigious professional tennis tournaments over the years, La Costa Resort and Spa unveils elite accommodations for the tennis and golfing enthusiast. The La Costa's acclaimed tennis center features 17 courts, both clay and hard court, along with lessons, video clinics and schools. Additional recreational amenities include two PGA Championship 18-hole golf courses, six swimming pools (including Splash Landing's water slide pool), a fully equipped athletic club, and a lounge with arcade games. The on-site spa comes complete with everything from Roman waterfall showers to steam rooms and spa pool. Accommodations include Spanish Colonial-style villas with king beds and authentic Saltillo tile floors.

Park Hyatt Aviara Resort

With 329 guest rooms and suites, Park Hyatt Aviara Resort unveils Spanish colonial-style architecture in the seaside community of Carlsbad in north San Diego. Resort amenities range from an Arnold Palmer-designed championship golf course to swimming, fitness and tennis. Managed by Peter Burwash International, the resort's tennis program includes a full-service pro shop and six courts, including two clay courts. On-site dining at Vivace presents contemporary Italian cuisine, while the resort's Argyle Steakhouse, California Bistro and Ocean Pool Bar & Grill round out the gourmet offerings. Rancho Valencia

Featuring a full-service spa, Rancho Valencia offers 18 plexi-pave championship tennis courts, as well as a roster of recreational options, including croquet, basketball and volleyball. The hotel's Play Like a Pro package includes a three-hour tennis clinic, 60-minute therapeutic massage and complimentary lunch. Within walking distance of the resort, Rancho Santa Fe Farms offers a championship golf course. In addition to luxury villas and suites, the resort presents such amenities as heated swimming pools, a signature restaurant and bar, and state-of-the-art fitness center. The on-site Restaurant at Rancho Valencia serves California Coastal ranch cuisine in a Mediterranean-style venue.
