The Teletubbies television show provided children with humorous entertainment as well as educational information. The four main characters who live in Teletubbyland include the lovable Tinky Winky (purple), Dipsy (green), Laa-Laa (yellow) and Po (red). Base your next party around these memorable childhood favorites. Set the tone for the party by playing a Teletubbies CD for background music.

Decorations

Incorporate the colors of the four Teletubbies characters--red, yellow, purple and green--in streamers, balloons, tablecloths and confetti. Create a balloon arch at the entrance of your party venue with the four main colors. Display a large Teletubbies poster to greet your guests or download images from the Internet, cut them out and glue them to poster board to adorn the walls. Use Teletubbies plush toys as centerpieces and tie a bouquet of balloons to each one.

Crafts

Give young party guests entertaining crafts to participate in while waiting for others to arrive or as a group activity during the party. Provide Teletubbies coloring books or pages for kids to color and take home. Set out Play-Doh and Teletubbies cookie cutters on a table for children to create cutouts of each character. You can also place a large piece of butcher paper on the wall and supply the kids with markers to draw a mural.

Games

Involve the party guests in games that relate to the Teletubbies television show. Have the children sit or stand in a circle and play a game of "Hot Potato" with a Teletubbies plush toy instead of the traditional potato. Play a game that reflects the Teletubbies love of hugging. Put everyone's names in a hat and pass around the hat while music is playing. When the music stops, the person holding the hat must draw a name from the hat and give a hug to that person. Keep playing until everyone's name has been drawn. You can also pick a guest to pretend to be Dipsy and play a game of "Dipsy Says" instead of the classic "Simon Says."

Food and Drink

Serve a tiered or sheet cake that displays a Teletubbies theme, either with different colored frosting or Teletubby decorations. Serve "Tubby Toast" as a snack for guests. Cut toast into a circle and top it with a chocolate or almond butter spread; add banana slices to create a face. Make skewers of green, red, purple and yellow fruit, such as grapes, kiwis, strawberries and papaya. Provide "Dipsy Drinks," such as a punch bowl filled with ginger ale and lime sherbet that creates an eye-catching fizz effect.
