Suite Hotels in Chattanooga

by Pamela Wright

Chattanooga, set along the Tennessee River and surrounded by the scenic Appalachian and Cumberland mountain ranges, has a variety of accommodations. Most of the city's major hotels have suites, along with standard rooms. However, there are a few all-suite properties in the city, located near top downtown attractions, like the Tennessee Aquarium and IMAX Theater.

Staybridge Suites

Stay here and you'll have a full kitchen, separate living and dining areas, and access to an indoor pool and fitness center. Rooms at this four-story, 124 all-suite hotel have bright white walls, beige wall-to-wall carpeting and simple oak furnishings. In warm weather, guests can head outdoors to the small picnic area with barbecue grills. You'll also find a selection of games and books in the hotel library. The hotel, located next to the Convention Center, offers a variety of packages, including lodging and tickets to major attractions, like the Aquarium, IMAX, Rock City and Ruby Falls.

Country Inns & Suites

This all-suite property is located at the Hamilton Place Mall, minutes from the airport. Rooms, with two queen beds or a king, have separate living spaces, refrigerators and microwaves. Decor is basic, with white walls and dark wood furniture, but each suite has two flat-screen TVs. Guests receive a free breakfast buffet and complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. Other amenities include indoor and outdoor pools and a fitness center.

Residence Inn

Each evening, guests can stop by for complimentary cocktails and appetizers at the manager's reception. It's one of the money-saving amenities at this all-suite hotel in downtown Chattanooga. A free hot breakfast buffet is also included in room rates. The four-floor, 76-room hotel offers studio, one- and two-bedroom suites, with full kitchens. Kitchens have tile floors and granite counters; rooms are decorated in neutral tones, with taupe carpeting. Flat-screen televisions are located in the bedroom and separate living room. Guests have access to the indoor pool and whirlpool spa, and a fitness center.

Comfort Suites

If you're looking for a basic, bare-bones studio suite, consider this property located near Lookout Mountain. The studio suites have a separate living area with a pull-out couch and dining table. The kitchenette has a refrigerator and microwave. Rooms have two queen beds, white and blue accent walls, with green and gold furnishings. Families may enjoy the heated indoor pool and the money-saving, complimentary continental breakfast. Free Wi-Fi is an added convenience, too. The Chattanooga Choo-Choo, IMAX Theater, Lookout Mountain, Children's Discovery Center and Ruby Falls are all a mile or so away.
