Definition of Cave Spelunking
Cave spelunking is the hobby of cave exploration. Cave spelunking parties descend into caves using ropes and other equipment to explore the subterranean surroundings. More serious practitioners of this hobby sometimes refer to themselves simply as "cavers." The term "spelunking" is occasionally used derisively to indicate individuals whose approach to caving is amateurish and sometimes even dangerous.
