For brides, bridal parties and relatives of the bride, wedding planning can become somewhat stressful at times. That's why a spa theme makes so much sense for a bridal shower. The bride and her closest friends can, in a sense, multitask by combining fun along with relaxation and some much-needed pampering. If you are hosting a spa-themed bridal shower, you can let the pampering continue once the shower is over by giving attendees spa-themed party favors.
Spa Goody Bag
Put together an array of spa goods in a pretty gift bag and top with a colorful ribbon. Include any or all of the following items: emery board, cuticle cream, nail polish, body or hand lotion, nail brush, lip balm, pumice stone, spa soap, and bath bombs. Purchase gift bags, tissue and ribbon at a local dollar store. If you have a good selection of music on your computer, create a spa CD and make copies to include in each goody bag.
Smells such as eucalyptus, spearmint and lavender are good for de-stressing and will remind everyone what a lovely time they had at the spa party. You have several choices when it comes to aromatherapy party favors. Consider tying two little bottles of essential oil together with ribbon and attach two or three little wedding bells. Or instead, tie the ribbon and bells around a little bottle of spearmint eucalyptus massage oil or an aromatherapy candle. To mark the occasion, write the name of the bride and groom as well as their wedding date on a small decorative piece of card stock, create a hole with a hole punch, and slip it onto the ribbon of each favor. You can usually locate the little wedding bells at a hobby or wedding supply store.
The Eyes Have It
If you enjoy crafting and you have a sewing machine, consider making aromatherapy eye pillows for everyone to take home. Created from silk or satin, you can coordinate the colors to match the bridal theme. Other ideas that you can give individually or include in your spa bag include refreshing and soothing eye pads you can purchase online or at stores like T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Cucumber and green tea extract pads reduce puffiness while orange and aloe pads invigorate and energize.
Bath salts combine the relaxing experience of aromatherapy along with the therapeutic benefits of sea salt. Add a personal touch to your spa-themed bridal shower by making scented bath salt favors yourself. It's relatively easy and fun to do. Purchase some bulk all-natural bath salt online or at a gift boutique or health store. For every 16 oz. of bath salt, add 15 to 30 drops of essential oil. Stir well and pour into decorative glass jars that have lids or stoppers. If you want the bath salts to be relaxing, use lavender oil. If you want the salts to energize, use 10 drops of spearmint oil and 5 drops of rosemary oil. If you aren't sure whether you want the salts to energize, invigorate or relax, consider making a bath salt bar where each guest can concoct her own customized bath salts.
