The rainy city of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest is a place that many wish they could explore in greater depth. If you will be in town for a month or longer, many hotels offer rates and services to enable every type of visitor a comfortable stay in the "Emerald City" of lush evergreens, circled by snow capped mountains and a rich marine environment.

Considerations

Nightly rates for lodging in Seattle can be expensive, but you can find affordable options for by extending your stay to a month or longer. Location and your specific budget are the key considerations in choosing accommodations for monthly stays. Expanding your search to the Greater Seattle area offers flexibility if you have an automobile, with many hotels within a 30-minute drive to downtown.

Corporate Hotels

Several large hotel chains in Seattle provide or sponsor monthly accommodations geared toward the corporate traveler. Generally upscale properties in prime locations, they provide larger spaces for extended stays, backed by the hotel's reputation for quality. The Marriott chain has ExecuStay properties in several Seattle locations, including Harbor Steps in the heart of downtown and the Metropolitan Tower on Westlake Avenue.

City Center

For sightseeing or business trips, the downtown area is the center of activity, with options available for monthly stays. The Belltown Inn on 3rd Avenue is in an iconic Seattle city neighborhood, just blocks from Pikes Place Market and right in the middle of the thriving music scene, with some of the city's most popular clubs within walking distance. Rates are markedly reduced for stays of 30 days or longer, and rooms include a small kitchenette.

Queen Anne

The Queen Anne neighborhood is divided into Upper and Lower sections, with monthly rates available in both areas. Just a block from the Space Needle and Seattle Center, the Mediterranean Inn welcomes monthly guests with kitchenettes, an exercise facility and a Starbucks off the lobby. The Vermont Inn in Queen Anne is a sister property with smaller rooms, but similar amenities and lower rates.

Eastside

The Eastside area of Greater Seattle connects to downtown by two floating bridges that provide easy access. The larger city of Bellevue is a distinct business and arts mecca in itself, with the Pacific Inn providing monthly stays within walking distance to Meydenbauer Center, the Bellevue Art Museum and the upscale Bellevue Square shopping mall. The rooms available are either studios or loft style, with a bedroom upstairs.

Efficiency Studios

With dozens of locations in the Greater Seattle area, the Extended Stay America hotel chain is perhaps the most recognizable name for monthly efficiency studios. They have locations, or sister properties, covering the entire region, from the airport to South Seattle, Eastside, the northern towns of Bothell and Lynnwood, as well as Microsoft territory in Redmond. The prices vary considerably based on location.
