San Antonio has many luxury hotels, but only a handful have Jacuzzi tubs. In general, most of the luxury accommodations are located downtown near the city's River Walk. The upscale hotels fall into the four-star, four-diamond range and often are "very expensive or expensive," according to Frommer's. These hotels book up fast, so a reservation well in advance is advisable.
The Emily Morgan Hotel
The AAA Four Diamond boutique hotel, Emily Morgan, is just 14 steps from The Alamo. Each of the guest rooms come with feather-top beds, Jacuzzi tubs and 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets. The pet-friendly hotel has a library, stainless steel pool and fitness center. Dine on Texas cuisine or sip a signature margarita at ORO Restaurant and Bar. High-backed booths, dark wood floors and votive candles give the restaurant a sophisticated feel. Built in 1924, the former Medical Arts Building houses the Emily Morgan Hotel.
The Fairmount Hotel
The historic, luxury boutique, The Fairmount, offers 37 individually decorated rooms with balconies, high ceilings and Jacuzzi tubs. Guests can relax in the hotel's marble courtyard, which features palmettos and patio seating. Restaurant Insignia features Texas cuisine with a modern, international touch. Meals include Bone Marrow Pudding, Tres Leches Cheesecake and their signature Brisket Burger. The pet-friendly boutique also has 24-hour business and fitness centers. The Fairmount is within walking distance of The Alamo, the San Antonio Convention Center, and the River Walk area.
Located right on San Antonio's River Walk, The Mokara is San Antonio's only Forbes Four Star Hotel. "Travel + Leisure" named the hotel on their 2010 "World's Best Hotels" list. The hotel's 99 rooms and suites have marble finishes and Jacuzzi tubs. Guest rooms come in three classes: Premier, Riverview and Spa. Ostra, the hotel's riverfront, seafood restaurant, earned "Wine Spectator's" Award of Excellence. For lighter dining, Mokara has a rooftop café. The 17,000-square-foot on-site spa has a rooftop pool, separate women's and men's facilities, 18 private treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy tub.
Hyatt Regency San Antonio
The massive AAA Four Diamond Hyatt Regency is San Antonio's only River Walk hotel that overlooks The Alamo. The 632-room hotel has a 24-hour fitness center, spa, restaurant and lounge. While the hypoallergenic guest rooms do not come with Jacuzzis, they do have iPod docking stations, air purifiers and down blankets. The Jacuzzi is on the rooftop with a heated pool. Pamper your body at the DASA Spa, or take in some jazz at Jim Cullum's Landing -- the world's second oldest jazz club.
Noble Inns operates three bed-and-breakfasts throughout San Antonio. The luxury accommodations feature Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces and antiques. Each of the three houses -- Oge, Jackson and Carriage -- are historic buildings with Victorian design and décor. Relax at Oge House's gardens, gazebos and verandas. The Jackson House offers a heated spa pool and conservatory, with antique stained glass and tropical flora. The Carriage House is appropriate for families as it has large suites that accommodate up to six guests.
