Offering delicious food in a beautiful setting, this city is a wonderful romantic destination for a Valentine's Day lunch.

Traditional New England

Take advantage of your location and celebrate Valentine's Day with some delicious traditional New England fare. Enjoy a gorgeous view of the water while eating piping hot bowl of chowder or a lobster panini the Saltwater Grille (saltwatergrille.com). DiMillo's on the Water (dimillos.com) also boasts views of the water, along with classic favorites such as a Maine crab roll, broiled haddock and fried clams. While it is not on the water, the warm, rustic interior of the Old Port Sea Grill (theoldportseagrill.com) provides a great backdrop for a delicious New England romantic lunch.

Mediterranean

Embue your Valentine's Day with the romantic warmth of the Mediterranean by enjoying lunch at one of Portland's Mediterranean restaurants. Fore Street's (forestreet.biz) cozy dining room has a rustic feel with exposed brick and dark wooden tables. Diners enjoy the romantic space while feasting on mussels in garlic sauce or turnspit-roasted chicken. At Cinque Terre (cinqueterremaine.com), lovers of Italian cuisine celebrate their love with delicious wines and dishes inspired by the cuisine of Italy, Spain and France.

New American

New American cuisine gives old classic favorites a modern, new twist. Impress a Valentine's date with an innovative yet delicious lunch at one of Portland's New American restaurants. At Hugo's (hugos.net), chef Rob Evans' menu is inspired by local ingredients and the culinary styles of Japan, France and other locations. For instance, a "surf and turf" lobster and beef dish is jazzed up with shiso and beet. Five Fifty-Five (fivefifty-five.com) features an intimate, cafe-style dining room and a menu filled with small plates that are perfect for sharing with a loved one for a romantic lunch.
