Romantic Hotels in Spokane

by Joy Uyeno

Many of the hotels in Spokane, Washington, cater to business travelers and families, but a handful focus on those who want a romantic escape. From spa services and flowers to a champagne brunch, the romance packages at a few hotels in Spokane aim to give couples the time to indulge in life's little luxuries together.

Northern Quest Resort

The Northern Quest Resort opened on December 31, 2001, joining the Northern Quest Casino. The resort and casino are owned by the Kalispel Tribe, which donates more than $800,000 back to the community each year. The resort houses 250 guest rooms decorated in contemporary style with sleek lined furniture set against a palette of soft grey, chocolate brown and white. The Journey to Romance package includes a per-person credit toward breakfast, roses, turndown service with chocolates, a bottle of wine and complimentary valet services. Guests may indulge even further at Current Spa and Salon, which offers hair, nail, skin and massage services, as well as a pool and fitness center. The resort and casino includes 14 restaurants, bars, lounges and nightclubs.

Davenport Hotel

Davenport Hotel is Spokane's luxury destination. The AAA rated four-diamond hotel features classic European decor throughout the common areas, guest rooms and suites. The hotel's romance package includes a dining credit at any of its restaurants, a two-night stay, champagne, flowers, valet parking and Town Car service within a two-mile proximity of the hotel. Spa Paradiso offers massage, body, nail and hair treatments and features a pool, fitness center and couple's suite for those who want to receive their treatments together. Palm Court Grill is the Davenport's fine dining option, while the Safari Room offers casual fare throughout the day. The Peacock Room Lounge serves cocktails and spirits. The Davenport hosts an opulent Champagne Sunday Brunch each week.

Hotel Lusso

Hotel Lusso is right across the street from its sister hotel, the Davenport. The two hotels share access to the restaurants at the Davenport, and guests from Hotel Lusso are also welcome to Spa Paradiso's facilities. The Romance Package grants guests a dining credit to any of the restaurants at the Davenport, a bottle of champagne, flowers, valet parking and Town Car service. The Dinner and a Movie package offers guests a dining credit at the on-site Post Street Ale House, valet parking and two AMC movie passes. Guest rooms at Hotel Lusso are updated European classic with 12 to 14 foot ceilings and bathrooms with Italian marble accents.

Roberts Mansion

The Roberts Mansion was originally built in 1889 by civil engineer E.J. Roberts, a 28-year old recognized for building the longest stretch of railroad in the shortest period of time. The mansion underwent a detailed renovation to become a bed and breakfast while keeping the Queen Anne Victorian identity of the property in tact. The establishment features four suites in the mansion and one in the "Secret Garden" beside the mansion, as well as five fireplaces and eight balconies. Each room is furnished with antique pieces and decorated with textiles such as heavy velvets and lace in order to evoke the ambiance of Victorian times. Guests are welcome in the well-stocked library, the manicured gardens and in the formal dining room for breakfast. The Roberts Mansion also hosts weddings and private events.
