The romantic hotels of Newport, Rhode Island, offer views of the water and sandy beaches, as well as opportunities for fine dining at hotel eateries or restaurants in the harbor area. The local accommodations feature restored historic Newport inns and hotels, many on the National Register of Historic Places and all within walking distance of the sandy bluffs and white beaches of the peninsula.

The 23 townhouses, deluxe and junior suites offer romantic, private bedrooms and baths that sleep up to four guests. All townhouse suites have dual living levels with a wet bar and refrigerator. Amenities at the inn feature a complimentary continental breakfast, as well as an afternoon tea service. Local eateries, tourist attractions and nearby shopping include Bowen's Wharf, Bellevue Avenue and Cliff Walk at Easton's Beach, all less than a 15-walk from the inn.

The Chanler at Cliff Walk

Constructed in 1873, the restored hotel offers guests a choice of the Manor, Estate or Signature rooms or accommodations in the Garden or Ocean Villas. Room amenities range from the value-priced Manor rooms, the Estate junior suites or Signature rooms featuring in-room Jacuzzi tubs. The Garden Villa accommodations have private exterior entrances, outdoor hot tubs on private patios with gardens and water features. The Ocean Villas overlook Easton Beach and the Cliff Walk and have private saunas and spas situated in outdoor garden courtyards. Romantic on-site dining offers a choice of the Spiced Pear, Chef's Table, The Veranda or The Terrace, all supervised by the hotel's experienced executive chef.
