Romantic Hotels in Detroit

Detroit, Michigan, is the only U.S. city located north of Canada, and features the Ambassador Bridge, which connects it to Ontario. Known as the birthplace of Motown and the auto industry, the city offers romantic activities such as theater shows and dining at restaurants. Numerous hotels offer accommodations for couples on romantic getaways. They also provide services for couples planning weddings and honeymoons.

Historic Hotels

The Inn on Ferry Street is in the East Ferry Street Historic District of Midtown District and is a member of the Historic Hotels of America. Constructed in the 1800s, the property features four Victorian homes and two carriage houses. Its Romance Package includes long-stem roses, champagne and assorted chocolates. The Inn offers complimentary shuttle service to downtown. Select rooms have fireplaces, hot tubs and breakfast nooks. The Westin Book Cadillac Hotel is located in midtown Detroit and is included in the National Register of Historic Places. It was the tallest building in the world when completed in 1924. It features Italian Renaissance architecture with stone moldings. The hotel has four ballrooms and an Italian garden for weddings. Honeymooners get room amenities such as champagne and flowers. Guests who have weddings at the hotel get special invitations for their one-year anniversaries. Select rooms have separate sitting areas and overlook the river.

AAA Four Diamond Hotels

The MGM Grand Detroit towers above downtown Detroit, and Leo the lion greets guests as they drive to the door. The casino offers more than 4,000 slot machines and more than 90 table games. Dearborn Area

The Doubletree hotel is nine miles from downtown Detroit in suburban Dearborn, only one mile from Ford World Headquarters. Its Sweet Romance Getaway offers deluxe accommodations, sparkling wine upon arrival, breakfast in bed or in the hotel restaurant, and late checkout. The grille39 serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, specializing in steak and seafood dishes. Suites contain two-person whirlpools, wet bars and living rooms. Marriott's The Henry is next to the Fairlane Town Center Mall, only 10 miles from Downtown Detroit. Its special-occasion package includes rose petals, champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and complimentary breakfast. The hotel also offers restaurant delivery and 24-hour room service.

Greektown

The Atheneum Suite Hotel sits in the middle of the Greektown Dining and Entertainment District, next to the Greektown Casino. The Greek-inspired hotel features murals of Greek gods and goddesses in shades of brown, and an indoor waterfall. It provides 29,000 square feet of banquet space for weddings, and on-site wedding coordinators help couples plan their weddings and honeymoons. Wedding packages include accommodations for brides and grooms in addition to room rentals and catering. Select guest rooms have marble whirlpool tubs, wet bars and views of the skyline.
