Rollerskating is a fun activity for kids and adults who prefer active lifestyles; you can spend a few hours at a rink to get in some amusing exercise and inexpensive family fun. If you live in or are visiting Muncie, Indiana there is only one skating rink nearby: Gibson Arena ( Gibson is located in New Castle, IN, 30 minutes from Muncie.


Gibson Arena is an indoor, inline rollerskating rink for kids and adults. They offer lessons for all ages, host group events and offer snacks. Gibson Arena offers their patrons a variety of rental skates to suit a range of performance levels, but patrons are welcome to bring their own equipment.


On Wednesdays, the rink charges $5 admission and $2 skate rental per person; Fridays and Saturdays cost $7 for admission and $2 for skate rental. Those bringing larger groups (10 or more people) for group events are charged $5 per person -- including skate rentals -- and each guest receives a Gibson Arena t-shirt.


As of June 2011, Gibson Arena is open year round. Open skate is Wednesday night from 6:30-9:00 p.m., Friday from 7 -11 p.m. and Saturday from 2:00-4:30 p.m.


Birthday parties and other group events are held at Gibson Arena on Wednesday nights or Saturday afternoons. If you bring 10 or more guests every guest will receive a Gibson Arena t-shirt. Gibson Arena staff will set up a room in which your group can eat cake and ice cream; they will also clean up the mess!
