The Wheelhouse is the only roller skating rink in Hemet as of July 2011. It has been in business for 24 years, as of 2011, according to the facility's website, wheelhousesk8.com.
Amenities
The Wheelhouse is an indoor skating rink that offers patrons a variety of rental skates suitable for all skill levels of skaters, or patrons can bring their own equipment. The rink offers music while skaters circle the rink, and has an arcade with games for skaters looking to take a break.
Cost
As of July 2011, admission is $6 per person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wednesday is designated "cheap skate" day, with admission $4 per person during the day and $5 starting at 6 p.m. Friday night "Electro Jam" sessions have $8 admission starting at 6 p.m., but skate rental is free starting at 4 p.m. The Wheelhouse offers other admission specials, including Buddy Skate on Mondays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. when two skaters get in for the price of one. Thursdays offer "Family Carload" night, with admission of $20 for up to five skaters. Skate rental is $3 per day.
Hours of Operation
Open skating hours are Mondays and Tuesdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursdays 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Parties
The Wheelhouse offers a variety of group events, including birthday parties and lock-ins, in which teenagers stay all night with a church or school group. The facility offers special packages for birthday parties. The basic package includes two pitchers of soda, special invitations, cake and ice cream for $130 for up to 10 guests, with each additional guest $7. Patrons can add a meal plan to this package. Hot dogs and soda costs $20 for 10 guests, with $3 for each additional guest. Pizza costs $30 for 10 guests, with $12 for additional pizzas. The Pizza Party Package offers patrons four pitchers of soda and four pizzas for $60; each additional pizza is $12.
