A rock-and-roll party theme is perfect for children or adults. No matter the age of the guests, create a few party games to get them up off their feet and involved in the party. Entice your guests to play along by awarding rock-and-roll party favors and gift cards to game winners.

Paper Games

Make a rock-and-roll word scramble using words like guitar, microphone, Elvis, music and Rolling Stones. Give each player a paper and tell him to place the page face down in front of him. When you say "Go," the players can flip over their paper and unscramble the words. The first player with all the correct answers wins the game. You can also create a rock-and-roll bingo game by using the same words in bingo squares. Call out the words and have the players mark their cards. The first player to bingo and yell "Rock and Roll," wins the game.

Costume Contest

Tell your party guests to dress the part. Once the guests arrive, tell everyone to start looking around and judging the costumes. Place slips of paper on a table so guests can cast a vote for the best woman and man (or girl and boy) attire. Some examples of rock-and-roll attire include rock band T-shirts, Elvis costumes, leather jackets, poodle skirts and bright sunglasses. For added fun, allow each guest to model her rock-and-roll outfit before the judging. You can also award prizes for the most creative and funniest costumes.

Music Games

For children, play rock-and-roll music and have them dance around the room. When the music stops, tell the children they must freeze and cannot move until the music plays again. Any child caught moving is out of the game. The last player remaining in the game wins. For adults, play a game of "name that tune" by recording songs by artists like Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, The Drifters and The Platters. Play a few seconds of each song and have the adults guess the song. The adult who guesses the most songs correctly wins a prize.

Dance Contests

Have a dance contest by playing rock-and-roll music. Tell the players to show their best dance moves. For a different contest, divide the players into teams of three or four and send each team in a different room. Each team must pick a rock-and-roll song. The teams must sing and dance to their song. Award prizes for the best, funniest, silliest and scariest dances.
