The seventh book in the "Harry Potter" franchise is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," adapted into two films by the studio. The first film hit U.S. theaters on November 19, 2010 and the second movie's release date is July 15, 2011. Both movies represent the adaptation of the final book in the series by J.K. Rowling about the titular boy wizard.

Starting the Journey

When "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I" begins, the three lead characters prepare for their journey into darkness. Harry Potter watches as his aunt and uncle leave home for their own safety, Ron Weasley prepares to leave the security and protection of his family, and Hermione Granger wipes her parent's memory of her existence for their own protection. It is a heartbreaking start to the movie, showing the dangerous situation the kids are entering.

A Betrayal

Harry and his allies prepare to get the young boy wizard to safety by getting numerous people in the group drink a potion that make them all look like Harry Potter. When they leave, the evil Death Eaters immediately attack them--obviously there was a betrayal by someone in their group. Not everyone survives the attack and Harry realizes he has to go search out Lord Voldemort on his own so no one else dies in his name.

Breaking in to the Ministry of Magic

Ron and Hermione refuse to leave Harry and the three soon realize they need to break into the heavily guarded Ministry of Magic to retrieve a locket worn by Dolores Umbridge, recently appointed as head of the Muggle-Born (that is, non-magical person) Registration Commission. They take a potion to disguise themselves as Ministry officials, successfully infiltrating the Ministry and retrieving the locket.

Tensions Build from Within

The three wizards hide out in the woods while trying to figure out how to destroy the locket. What they don't realize is the locket feeds on fear and it begins to make the three uneasy, angry and argumentative. Finally, when the locket pushes Ron to the limit, he lashes out at his friends and leaves them. Ron eventually returns just in time to save Harry from drowning and helps his friend retrieve a magical sword needed for the upcoming battle.

Facing the Enemy

Harry, Ron and Hermione travel to talk to Xenohhilius Lovegood, hoping to garner some clues from him on how to defeat Vodemort. He betrays them to the Death Eaters but, before the capture, Hermione casts a spell, disfiguring Harry and lying about their identities. While the evil Bellatrix tortures Hermione, Harry receives help from the house elf Dobby, who rescues everyone, at the expense of his own life. Harry understands it is now time to face off with his mortal enemy, Voldemort. The movie ends with the dark wizard stealing his greatest weapon, a magic wand, from the tomb of Albus Dumbledore.
