People flock to Pittsburgh's North Side neighborhood to visit prominent points of interest such as Heinz Field, PNC Park, Rivers Casino, Penn Brewery, the Andy Warhol Museum, the National Aviary and the Carnegie Science Center. Surrounding all these attractions is a patchwork of residential neighborhoods with old brick and stone homes dating back to the 19th century. Several hotels also dot the North Side cityscape, offering travelers a diverse array of lodging options.

Inn on the Mexican War Streets

The Inn on the Mexican War Streets is on the North Side. Located close to the National Aviary and Allegheny Commons Park, the Inn on the Mexican War Streets occupies an old Romanesque stone mansion that was once the home of department-store magnate Russell H. Boggs. Fodor's Travel Guide recommends the Inn on the Mexican War Streets for its lavish dining room and ornate guest room furnishings. Only eight guest rooms exist in the building, and each has a different antique design. A few of them also have basic kitchen facilities. The hotel runs the on-site Acanthus restaurant, and staff also serve a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. All rooms have WiFi, and parking in the hotel lot is free for guests.

The Priory Hotel

The Priory Hotel sits near Highway 279 on the North Side. This boutique European-style hotel features 24 elegant guest rooms set around a verdant courtyard garden and a cozy parlor. Complimentary amenities include a continental breakfast, on-site parking, fitness room, shuttle service to downtown and WiFi. Adjacent to the Priory is Pittsburgh's Grand Hall, which is also run by the Priory Hotel. The Grand Hall occupies an old building that used to be St. Mary’s German Catholic Church. The Great Hall serves as a fancy venue for weddings, banquets, parties and charity fundraisers.

This hotel has a Bakery Café and a Grab ‘N Go case of ready-to-eat sandwiches, salads and drinks. In addition, the hotel operates a 24-hour guest kitchen with a host and chef serving made-to-order meals. Adjacent to the hotel lies McFaddens Bar & Grill. Hyatt Place also sits less than a block from the Allegheny River and the North Shore Trail. A complimentary shuttle service runs around the North Side and downtown.
