With pet-friendly hotels at every price range, there’s really no reason you shouldn’t include your furry friend on your trip to Ocala. When visiting the Silver Springs Nature Park for a glass-bottom boat ride, bring a padlock and your pup’s dish, toys and bedding to take advantage of the free water and shaded chain-link kennels provided. A 4.5-acre off-leash park at the corner of Southeast 24th and Southeast 32nd is open every day except Thursday and Friday.

Best Western

The Best Western welcomes up to two pets per room in designated first-floor guest rooms for a fee of $10 each per night, as of 2010. Cozy accommodations include a separate couch for seating. The hotel amenities include an outdoor hot tub and swimming pool. The Wild Waters park is located just 10 minutes from the hotel. An array of restaurants from fast food to upscale dining is within walking distance. The Petco located a half mile southwest of the hotel on Southwest 40th Avenue sells pet food and supplies.


The Hilton welcomes up to two pets per room, under 65 lbs. each for a $50 total fee per stay. Rooms are outfitted in cherry wood furnishings and Sweet Dreams pillow top beds with down-blend pillows. Suites include spacious living areas and balconies. The hotel is located amongst the area’s top Thoroughbred farms -- feed horses on-site and take a complimentary carriage ride with Buddy the Clydesdale. The hotel’s Arthur Restaurant serves regional and classic American favorites, and many are prepared tableside. The tree-lined Hilton property offers well-lit areas for walking your dog. Cassie’s Closet, located 1.3 miles northeast on Southwest 24th Avenue, offers spa grooming services, upscale accessories for pets and their parents, natural food products, children’s clothing and teacup-size puppies.

Residence Inn

The Residence Inn allows pets up to a collective total of 50 lbs. for a $75 fee. The hotel caters to extended stay guests with spacious accommodations that feature separate areas for sleeping, eating and working. Enjoy a complimentary daily breakfast buffet and weeknight manager’s reception with beer and wine. Amenities include a heated pool and whirlpool located outdoors. A fitness trail located just two miles from the hotel provides space for a long walk with your dog. If you forget any pet necessities or want to pack light for your trip, visit the PetSmart at 3500 Southwest College Road located a half mile northeast of the hotel.

Super 8 Motel

The Super 8 Motel welcomes pets for an additional $5 each per day with no limit on quantity or size. Efficiency-style guest accommodations feature traditional bedroom furniture with printed sateen coverlets. Direct access to the outside from your room adds convenience for potty breaks. The motel has a large sundeck and outdoor pool. The independently-owned Honey’s Pet Salon has offered grooming services for more than 10 years conveniently located right across the street from the motel.
