Pet-Friendly Lodging in Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is a family-friendly town, loaded with attractions such as a Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, country music and comedy shows, and a large aquarium with a walk-through shark tank. It also lies near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With a number of pet-friendly accommodations available, feel free to bring your pet along on your trip to Gatlinburg.

Microtel Inn and Suites Gatlinburg

For a small fee, the centrally located Microtel Inn and Suites allows you to keep up to two pets with you in your room. From this hotel, which is one street up from the main drag, easily walk or catch the town's trolley to many of Gatlinburg's attractions. It is also located right across the street from the Convention Center. The Microtel also offers a complimentary continental breakfast for its guests.

Garden Plaza Hotel Gatlinburg

The 272-room Garden Plaza Hotel Gatlinburg allows pets to stay with their owners for a nonrefundable fee. Although this hotel is not located on the main strip, Gatlinburg's trolley does have a stop directly in front of the Garden Plaza. The Garden Plaza Hotel has a small area in which to walk your pet. Children enjoy the hotel's game room, while the whole family takes advantage of the complimentary breakfast and two indoor pools.

Midtown Lodge

Located right in the middle of the strip -- as its name implies -- the pet-friendly Midtown Lodge is close to many of Gatlinburg's attractions and restaurants. In fact, it is located right across the street from the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, and is fronted by a charming village-style shopping mall. Midtown Lodge offers standard rooms, rooms with Jacuzzis, suites and townhome style rentals. The staff works to accommodate pet owners. For instance, if you advise them you have a pet and do not want anyone to enter the room, you can leave your dirty linens and towels outside the door and have new ones waiting for you upon your return to the room.

Cabins and Chalets

Gatlinburg has a number of privately owned, pet-friendly chalets and cabins for rent. Most of the cabin and chalet units are located in the mountains surrounding the town of Gatlinburg, and can be rented through an agency such as Chalet Village. Some agencies offer clubhouses with pools and other amenities available for their cabin renters to use, although there might be a bit of a drive from your unit to reach them.
