Pet-friendly hotels in St. Augustine are within access of dog-welcoming restaurants, parks and beaches. Some of these hotels charge extra for each night you stay with them; others charge nothing a all. Keep in mind that hotels have rules that pet owners must follow in exchange for their hospitality, including keeping your animal on a leash outside the room and being vigilant about cleaning up behind your dog as he takes his walk. Pets are allowed, on leash, on St. Augustine's beaches with the same rules.
Ramada Historic Downtown St. Augustine
The Ramada Historic Downtown Hotel sits in the busy part of historic St. Augustine, placing it in easy reach of attractions and restaurants. You can bring two pets to this hotel, but the management asks that you call to make sure there is a pet designated room available. The on-site restaurant, Slugger's Grill, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but does not admit pets. For pet-friendly dining consider the Raintree Restaurant and Steakhouse, where you can eat on their outdoor patio while your dog snoozes at your feet. Choose from dishes such as grilled shrimp and sausage, Raintree seafood au gratin or capellini pomodoro. The restaurant has live entertainment on weekends.
Beacher's Lodge
Located on Crescent Beach in St. Augustine, the all-suite Beacher's Lodge sits oceanside, offering kitchenettes and a pool that is heated in cool weather. Pets under 35 pounds are welcome in select units. Enjoy a meal out with your pet on the outdoor patios of nearby South Beach Grill or Tony's Pizza. A few minutes up the road, Cafe del Hidalgo has sandwiches, specialty salads and gelato made on premises. While staying at Beachers, spend an afternoon exploring the grounds of historic Castillo de San Marcos. The Castillo welcomes your pet everywhere except the interior of the structure. You dog might also enjoy visiting the park and beach at Fort Matanzas, where it will be welcome if kept on a leash.
Inn at Camachee Harbor
On the waterfront overlooking Camachee Harbor Marina, the Inn at Camachee Harbot provides a selection of dog-friendly rooms. A mini refrigerator and microwave oven allow you to prepare small meals of your own or heat leftovers from area restaurants. Take your pet to the outdoor patio at Kingfish Grill at the harbor for your dinner of seafood, burgers and steaks. Cross over the A1A causeway bridge to enjoy a meal outside at Benito's Pizza and Pastabilities. While there, take a walk along the beach and let your leashed pet enjoy the sand and surf.
St. Augustine Beachfront Resort
Guests will find pet-friendly rooms at the oceanside St. Augustine Beachfront Resort. The hotel has two pools, one an indoor heated pool with adjacent hot tub. The outdoor pool has a tall spiral water slide. Beachfront Resort sits very close to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, but your pet will not be admitted there. Instead, consider doggie daycare for an afternoon on your own, or, if your plans keep you away until late at night, Pet Paradise boards pets. Have lunch or dinner at pet-friendly Panama Hattie's, where you will find seafood dishes in addition to ribs, fish, and chicken. Play darts and pool here, or enjoy the video games.
