Pet Friendly Hotels Near Ft Lauderdale Beach

Whether you’re visiting Fort Lauderdale for business or pleasure, there’s no reason to leave your four-legged friend behind. Pet-friendly options close to the beach range from lifestyle resorts to independent lodging and high-end hotel brands. City ordinance prohibits pets on public beaches, but 93-acre Snyder Park at 3299 SW 4th Ave. offers the fenced two-acre Bark Park for leash-free play.

Apartment Lodging

The Royal Saxon is just 100 yards from the Fort Lauderdale beach and offers apartment-style lodging with full-sized kitchens. Separate living areas have sofa seating, tables with task lighting and a TV. The apartments' amenities include Wi-Fi Internet, a coin-operated laundry facility, outdoor barbecue grills and a heated kidney-shaped pool.

Gay Resorts

The 36-room Elusium Resort is just 180 yards from the beach. Your pet is welcome in designated garden-level rooms. Private, clothing-optional areas include two pools, a hot tub and rooftop deck. Breakfast is included in your room rate. Other amenities include a fitness center and barbecue grilling areas. South Florida Blade voted the Grand Resort and Spa, less than 200 yards from the beach, Best Weekend Getaway in 2008. The hotel serves complimentary continental breakfast daily. The resort has a spacious hot tub and pool, a full-service salon and spa and a fitness center. You can bring one or two pets 35 lb. or less to one of three one- and two-bedroom pet-friendly suites with private patios for a refundable $500 deposit and $25 nightly.

Independently Owned

Angela’s Beach Resort has 10 rooms and eight one-bedroom apartments that sleep up to four guests. The hotel welcomes cats and dogs for a fee in select guestrooms. You can walk to the beach, a block and a half away. The large outdoor pool is surrounded by trees and seating. The Premiere Hotel welcomes all pets and offers two room types and suites that sleep up to eight guests. Efficiency rooms and suites have fully equipped kitchens. The three-story motel offers views of the beach, located just a half block away. Shaded tables surround the outdoor pool. Take advantage of free video rental.

Luxury Chains

The oceanfront Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale offers 1940s-inspired guestrooms, suites, residential suites and club-level accommodations. Pets 25 lb. or less may join you for a $250 nonrefundable fee. Amenities at the resort include an 8,500-square-foot spa, restaurant, poolside café, two bars, fitness and business centers and a heated infinity pool. The Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel offers 486 rooms and suites just steps from the beach on Seabreeze Boulevard and welcomes pets up to 20 lb. Dine poolside on Mexican fare or stop by the Internet café or Wreck Bar for light refreshments. Amenities include a fitness center and the kids' Sheraton Adventure Club. The Westin Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale has the AAA Four Diamond distinction and welcomes your pet of 40 lb. or less with a signature Westin Heavenly Dog Bed. Access the beach directly from the pool deck’s sky walk. Other amenities include a spa, fitness center and kids' club. Dine at Shula’s, have coffee at Starbucks or grab a light bite at the poolside grill and bar.
