Pet Friendly Hotels in Greensboro, NC

Greensboro, North Carolina's third largest city lies in the center of the state's north central Piedmont region, a gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Its many attractions and historic sites attract family visitors with their pets. Happily, pet-friendly accommodations in Greensboro, found around the airport as well as in the city center, tend to be less restrictive and expensive that what is available in many other cities.

Knights Inn

Knights Inn, just of I-40, is two miles from Greensboro's Coliseum/Convention Center complex and about four miles from North Carolina A&T University. This 72-room hotel has slightly old-fashioned but homey and spacious rooms equipped with microwaves and refrigerators. Rooms have 72-channel cable television with HBO. Some have whirlpool baths. Parking for RVs and trucks is available and a family style Carolina Country Kitchen is on site. The hotel is completely pet-friendly: all rooms are available to guests with pets. A charge of $5 per night is payable per pet, which can include dogs or cats.

Motel 6 Greensboro South

Greensboro's Motel 6 is part of a national, stripped-down and cheap motel group with a chain-wide pet-friendly policy. Pets are welcome at no extra charge but cannot be left unattended in rooms. The hotel allows well-behaved animals that are family pets. Motel 6 promotes itself as having the lowest prices of any national chain. In 2010, Greensboro rooms were less than $30 per night, with a kids-stay-free policy. Amenities include free HBO, wireless Internet for a small fee, truck and RV parking and free morning coffee. The motel has several wheelchair-accessible rooms.

Fairfield Inn by Marriott Greensboro Airport

Pets are welcome at this bright and airy hotel, a few minutes from Piedmont International Airport. A one time, non-refundable "sanitation fee" of $10 is levied for pets. Rooms in this hotel are nicely decorated in white with colorful accents and coordinating prints on the walls. The hotel's pool and outdoor whirlpool look fresh and inviting. The Fairfield Inn offers complimentary high speed wireless Internet and free continental breakfasts included in the standard rates. Rooms in 2010 average less than $100 and a range of discount programs for seniors, AAA members and military personnel is available.

Best Western Deep River Greensboro Airport Hotel

Only pets under 25 lbs are welcome in this Best Western Hotel for a nominal fee. The hotel is 100 percent smoke free. It has an outdoor pool and an exercise facility with a stair-stepper and free weights. Several outlet shopping malls are nearby as well as such famiy attractions as Wet 'N Wild Emerald Point water park and the Greensboro Civil Rights Museum. A free continental breakfast buffet with 25 items is included in the rate.
