Residents of Niles, a small city in southwestern Michigan, can find party venues in their own town or travel to nearby metropolitan areas for party options.The attractions and venues in the area provide opportunities for organizing enjoyable parties for differing ages, tastes and activity levels.

Skating Party

Host a skating party at the Galaxy Roller Rink (galaxyskatingrink.com) on Ontario Road in Niles. The family-owned rink offers daily skating hours and has evening hours on Friday and Saturday. You can book the rink for a minimum of two hours for a party, which includes rental of regular skates, speed skates or rollerblades. The rink does not provide refreshments but you may bring in your own food and drinks.

Museum Party

Combine a child's birthday party with interactive learning with a trip to the Curious Kids' Museum (curiouskidsmuseum.org). The museum, in St. Joseph Michigan, a 40-minute drive from Niles, provides over 100 hands-on exhibits in science, history, technology and culture. It offers several different package options for children's birthday parties. These include 1 1/2 hours in the museum and 1/2 hour in a party room.

Park

Head to the Riverfront Park in Niles for a party. Riverfront Park, on the shores of the St. Joseph River, has a large children's play area and trails for hiking or cross-country skiing. The skate park at Riverfront Park provides a great venue for older kids. Bring your party food and set up on the picnic tables or use the park grills for a barbecue. If your party takes place in cold weather, head to Massimos Pizzeria (massimospizzeria.com) on East Main Street after burning energy in the park. You can arrange to have Massimos extend its hours to accommodate your party or call ahead to have pizzas waiting for you when you arrive.

Water Party

You can schedule a birthday party at the indoor water park at the Grand Rapids Holiday Inn (hiegr.com), approximately two hours north of Niles. The "Big Dip" water park features a three-story figure-eight water slide, a vortex pool, a toddler area, a single-lane swimming area and a hot tub for those aged 16 and over. There is a second-floor observation deck that has seating for up to 35 people. The party package includes three hours of water fun, pizzas and sodas.
