Parker Dam, California is located just south of Lake Havasu in San Bernardino County, near the Arizona border. About nine miles south of the Parker Dam itself, in view of California's Chemehuevi Mountains, this community provides easy access to lake activities such as fishing and water sports, as well as proximity to the Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge and Buckskin Mountain State Park. There are several camping opportunities in Parker Dam, with most sites catering to RV travelers.

Sunshine Resort

The Sunshine Resort ( is less than two miles south of the Parker Dam, right on the Colorado River. Ideal for campers also looking to spend time boating, waterskiing or wakeboarding, the resort offers 28 RV spaces with full hookups, in addition to 60 indoor boat storage units and a dock equipped with 15 boat slips. Campers can relax on the beach or take a hike on the nearby trails. Other amenities at this campsite include a general store and laundry room.

Black Meadow Landing

While Parker Dam's Black Meadow Landing resort ( offers several options for indoor accommodations, it also features 350 RV sites with 30-amp electric service and sewer and water hookups. Each site can accommodate an RV up to 53 feet in length and comes with its own picnic table. Additionally, Black Meadow Landing offers a handful of outdoor campsites situated near Lake Havasu, on a grassy landing with plenty of trees for shade, as well as running water. Rates for each depend on both location and the season, but monthly and weekly options are available.

Echo Lodge

Echo Lodge (, also situated along the Colorado River south of Lake Havasu, not only offers 101 full-hookup RV sites, but 306 total spaces with tent sites as well. Open all year long, Echo Lodge features recreational amenities such as a swimming pool (in addition to river swimming and boating), a playground and horseshoes. The resort also has an on-site ATM, showers, laundry, ice and even a barbecue restaurant with a cocktail lounge.

River Lodge

The River Lodge Resort ( is yet another river-adjacent campsite catering to both RVs and individual tenters, with 360 full-hookup sites. River Lodge also offers a dock with a boat ramp for fishing and other water-related activities. In addition to amenities such as available firewood, restrooms, shower, ice, laundry, a library, a swimming pool and DVD rentals, there is also Internet access throughout the site through a Wi-Fi connection.
