Whether you want to enter your child in a talent competition that promotes Southern charm, or prepare her to win a scholarship to a Georgia college or university, a few pageants may peak your interests. These state-specific contests take place at different times of year, so if you want to enter, you must submit the necessary materials before the deadline.

Southern Elite Pageant

Both boys and girls may enter the Southern Elite Pageant in Georgia. However, the age limits are different for both genders; boys from ages 0 to 6 are eligible for entry, while girls between ages 0 to 16 are permitted to enter the pageant. Every contestant leaves the event with a trophy and prize bag, and the winners are awarded with crowns and sashes, along with cash prizes. The pageant aims to promote self-confidence and encourage poise. The pageant also offers an online photo contest--the winners are awarded with waived pageant fees.

Georgia's Miss Heart of America Pageant

The state of Georgia holds a Miss Heart of America Pageant so a winner can compete at the finals in Orlando, Florida. Infant girls may enter the pageant, along with women as old as 24. The entry fee in 2011 was $35, and 10 contestants are admitted per age division. Contestants are expected to arrive in presentable casual wear and don't have to wear heavy makeup, as this is not a "glitz" pageant. Pageant participants are required to bring 10 nonperishable food items to the event to signify the importance of giving back to the community. The pageant also includes a Viewer's Choice category in which the audience selects the girl who had the best personality, smile or talent.

Miss Conyers Cherry Blossom Scholarship Pageant

The Miss Conyers Cherry Blossom Scholarship Pageant is a preliminary competition for the Miss Georgia and Miss America Pageants. The pageant helps fund the college educations of the winners and is broken into three categories: the "Miss" section, designated for contestants ages 17 to 24, the Outstanding Teen category for girls ages 13 to 16, and the Princess section for younger girls between the ages of 4 1/2 to 12. Miss contestants will participate in a swimsuit competition and will also be expected to interview well, answer an onstage question and model an evening gown. Outstanding Teens engage in a fitness wear competition in lieu of the swimsuit portion of the pageant. The pageant takes place at Rockdale County Auditorium in Conyers, Georgia.

Georgia Christmas Pageant

The winner and runners-up of the Georgia Christmas Pageant help wrap presents for unfortunate children in Georgia who wouldn't otherwise have a Christmas. All the proceeds from the contest are spent purchasing gifts; applicants who want to enter into the December competition must submit their applications in November. Judges critique the contestants in categories such as best dressed, prettiest eyes and best smile. Girls and women from the infancy to 21 years may enter the pageant; Ms. and Mrs. categories exist for unmarried and married women over the age of 21. All applicants must bring an unwrapped toy to the competition, along with the entry fee.
