Oceanfront Hotels on the Beaches of Virginia

Virginia offers visitors a 112-mile coastline that includes what the Environmental Defense Fund calls a "world-renowned tourist destination" at Virginia Beach. The tidal shoreline has approximately 3,315 miles and visitors to The Old Dominion have a choice of a large collection of oceanfront hotels featuring a wide range of amenities at a variety of price points.

Best Western Holiday Sands Inn & Suites

The Holiday Sands Inn and Suites, a Best Western hotel, offers guests accommodations within steps of the beach in Norfolk, Virginia, on the eastern Chesapeake Bay. The nonsmoking facility features accommodations including guest rooms and two-room suites with free breakfast service, an outdoor swimming pool, and a business and fitness center. The Holiday Sands Inn and Suites located across from the beach, just steps from the hotel, also offers easy access to the Little Creek Amphibious Base and the Nauticus USS Wisconsin Battleship.

Cavalier Hotel

The historic Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach, located a block from the ocean, first welcomed guests in 1927. The hotel incorporates two distinctive parts: Cavalier on the Hill, the traditional facility, and the Cavalier Oceanfront, a contemporary complex steps away from the water. Hotel amenities include complimentary valet service and hotel parking and concierge service. The complex features a gift shop and choice of guest rooms or suites with private balconies, microwaves and refrigerators. The Cavalier Oceanfront has rooms with ocean views.

Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort

The Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort on the sands of Virginia Beach features an enclosed heated swimming pool, dining on-site and in restaurants in the adjacent shopping mall, and rooms with private balconies overlooking the water. Resort amenities also include a fitness room, guest laundry and a complimentary deluxe breakfast buffet. Room selection offers an ocean view, lodging on the oceanfront and rooms with micro-kitchenettes. The resort has special accommodation packages featuring whale watching and holiday programs.

Sea Gull Inn Oceanfront

The Sea Gull Inn Oceanfront in Virginia Beach on Atlantic Avenue features an indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi, on-site parking, rooftop sun deck and partial views of the ocean. The hotel offers ground floor lodging and rooms accessible by an elevator. All rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. The beach and boardwalk, steps from the hotel, has lifeguard services during the peak tourist season in the summer. Guests have the option of renting bicycles, family cycle carts, tandem cycles or beach cruisers on the beach in front of the hotel.

Hilton Inn & Suites Oceanfront

The Hilton Inn and Suites Oceanfront on the sand at Virginia Beach, renovated in 2009, has direct access to the boardwalk and ocean. Hotel amenities include a business and health and fitness center and a spa. All rooms feature a complimentary breakfast and a dedicated room workspace. The hotel's suites offer rooms with double beds and a sleeper sofa, in addition to a mini-refrigerator, microwave and kitchenette, with seating for four at a dining room table. Lunch and dinner dining for hotel guests includes restaurants and eateries along the boardwalk.
