Ocean City, Maryland, long a summer destination for travelers from Washington and Baltimore, is crowded and busy during the summer months. Tourists roam the boardwalk, and arcades draw kids. Parking is difficult, so hotels that offer at least one parking space per room help ease the congestion and make guests' stays more pleasant. Expect high room rates during the summer and deep discounts in the off-season.

Rates at the Haven Hotel are extremely reasonable from January through March. The hotel provides one free parking space per room.
Hotel Monte Carlo & Suites
Hotel Monte Carlo, also on the Boardwalk, maintains a small park with skateboard ramps, tennis and basketball courts, and a playground for kids. The outdoor pool at the suites is open seasonally. Hotel Monte Carlo’s best off-season rates match Haven Hotel’s, and run from the end of October through March. The hotel provides one free parking space per room. A fee is charged for additional spots.

The original Commander Hotel, built in 1931, had Ocean City’s first elevator. During the 1950s, Clambakes hosted by the hotel drew hundreds of guests to oceanfront feasts. During the 1970s, live theatre productions were a local favorite. Suites, cabanas and apartments took the place of the original Commander when it was razed in 1997. Guests at the hotel's apartments, located a block from the ocean, have use of the Commander’s indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Skipjack Grill serves buffet breakfast, poolside lunch and Happy Hour specials. The hotel provides guests with one free parking space.
