North Wildwood Beach Hotels in New Jersey

by Joe Fletcher

As its name implies, North Wildwood is the northernmost beach of New Jersey's Wildwoods, a five-mile island of beaches in southern New Jersey that are among the most well-known and celebrated beaches on the state's coastline. The Wildwoods are home to a 38-block, amusement-filled boardwalk and some of New Jersey's only free beaches. When booking hotels near the beach in North Wildwood, note that the amusements of the Wildwood Boardwalk begin at 16th Street and stretch south (higher number streets) to Wildwood and Wildwood Crest.

Champagne Island Resorts

The Champagne Island Resort is an all-suite, year-round resort located near the northernmost tip of the Wildwoods near Hereford Inlet. Its location puts it away from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk. The property has many of the amenities that people visit the Jersey Shore for -- ocean-view pool, nightclub, beach bar -- all on the premises. Find your choice of one- and two-bedroom suites all with kitchens and balconies. The property has beach access as well as a salon and coffee shop. Flip Flopz Beach Bar and Grill and the Tiki Topz Pool Bar provide two casual options for dining and drinks.

Surf Song Beach Resort

The Surf Song Beach Resort is a condominium-based oceanfront property right on the beach and boardwalk in central North Wildwood. Guests choose from one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums with kitchens. Enjoy amenities like a patio grill, two pools, a jacuzzi and two large decks.

Florentine Family Motel

Located within the beach and boardwalk block on Surf Avenue near 19th St., the Florentine Family Motel is a property with several types of units, including motel units, combo units for couples, and one- and two-bedroom efficiencies. All rooms include microwaves and refrigerators. Enjoy the sun and ocean air of North Wildwood on the Florentine's large sun deck, or visit the kid's pool or the adult pool to cool off.

Matador Oceanfront Resort

Located directly on the beach at 16th Street, Matador Oceanfront Resort gives you and your family front-row tickets to the white sands and crisp, blue waters of North Wildwood. Be within steps of the beach and boardwalk, and enjoy two large oceanfront sun decks, three gas grills, a pool and a children's wading pool. Rooms offer double beds or queens, and flat-screen TVs are standard.
