When in the Dungeness Crab Capital of the World, visitors find a handful of hotels and motels in the small coastal town of Newport, Oregon. This working fishing town is home to attractions such as lounging sea lions, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and Undersea Gardens. Most hotels and motels in Newport offer in-room mini-refrigerators and microwave ovens.

Accommodations range from bedrooms that sleep up to four guests to studio rooms that sleep up to four guests. Additionally, some of the Greenstone Inn’s rooms adjoin to accommodated groups with up to eight guests. Those considering a stay at the Greenstone Inn should keep in mind that pets are not allowed and the rooms do not have land-line phones, so guests need a cell phone if they need to make phone calls.

Situated on Newport’s busy marina, the Embarcadero is one of the area’s few upscale accommodations. The marina is home to tourist shops, local art galleries, fishing boats home from an ocean tour and noisy sea lions. The décor in the Embarcadero’s rooms are inspired by the natural elements found on the Oregon coast, such as wooden furnishings and accents, and aquamarine colored carpets. Bold elements such as red leather chairs and black café chairs give the rooms a more modern look. Accommodations at this resort hotel include studio rooms and suites of different sizes, and many can sleep up to four or more guests. Amenities include a sauna, private fishing and crabbing docks, crab ring rentals and boat rentals.
