National Pageants in Florida

Pageants in the state of Florida offer girls and women an opportunity to participate in beauty and talent contests to win scholarships and prizes. While numerous local beauty pageants take place in the state, winners of the Florida national pageants have an opportunity to complete against others around the country.

National Miss American Coed Pageants

The National Miss American Coed Pageants ( takes place at the Hilton Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The pageant is open to girls as young as 4, and the categories include Princess, Sweetheart, Preteen, Jr. Teen, Teen and Coed. The Coed division is for girls from the ages of 20 to 23, and girls under the age of 13 are not allowed to wear makeup. Focus for each contestant is placed on family, teamwork and self-esteem.

Miss Florida USA

The Miss Florida USA ( pageant is open to women from the ages of 18 to 26. Competition areas include physical fitness, interview and evening gown, and applicants must be U.S. citizens, state residents, never have been married and never have had a child. Winners of the national pageant are eligible to compete in the Miss Florida USA pageant and receive a number of prizes from local businesses, including gift certificates, clothes, accessories, spa packages and jewelry.

Miss Teen Florida USA

Girls in the state of Florida from the ages of 13 to 17 are eligible to enter the Miss Teen Florida USA ( pageant. Before entering the state pageant, candidates must qualify as a local finalist or win the Miss Photogenic or Miss Amity award. While winners of the pageant go on to compete in the national competition, opportunities are also available to participate in local appearances at state events and charities.

Miss Florida

The Miss Florida ( competition is part of the Miss America pageant, and competitors are judged on talent, physical fitness, interview, evening wear and on-stage questions. Applicants to the pageant are required to be high school graduates from 17 to 24 years old who have never married or pregnant. They must be accepted into college, U.S. citizens and residents of Florida. Winners go on to compete in the national Miss American pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
