Myrtle Beach, a resort town on the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina, has experienced a proliferation in the number of hotels and condos that cater to the many visitors drawn by the growing number of entertainment venues in town. Many accommodations provide whirlpools in the public swimming pool areas, but a smaller number of hotels and condos near the town's restaurants and entertainment spots offer in-room whirlpool tubs.
Dunes Village Resort
Guests at Dunes Village Resort in Myrtle Beach spend their vacation time drifting on the resort's lazy river, flying down the indoor water park flumes, playing in the outdoor swimming pool or splashing happily in the indoor water park. The public hot tubs on the outside decks or in the water park offer relaxation to all. But 13 of the 16 units at Dunes Village come with private in-room whirlpools as well, including the Oceanfront Deluxe Queen Suite, the Angle Oceanfront King Suite and the Oceanfront Queen Suite. Dunes Village Resort serves a breakfast buffet in their Admiral's Room Restaurant, and the Captain's Café and Lounge offers a menu of seafood and light bar fare. Guests of the Dunes have access to the Spa at North Beach Plantation for day-long or partial-day visits. The spa offers massages, skin and beauty treatments, and salon services that include manicures and pedicures.
Ocean Reef Resort
Ocean Reef Resort offers guestrooms, efficiencies, suites and condos to Myrtle Beach visitors. The one-bedroom king suites on the 17th floor come with private whirlpool tubs. The resort also offers a special children's water park with shallow water, gentle water drops and colorful characters. The lazy river flows outdoors and in, weaving across the property. The indoor and outdoor pool decks are divided by special glass enclosures that remain open in warm weather but are closed in cool weather to allow warm indoor swimming. Café du Port provides a full breakfast buffet, and you will find snacks and very light fare in the Banana Boat Lounge where you can also enjoy a game of pool.
The all-suite Island Vista of Myrtle Beach offers one- to four-bedroom accommodations. The larger three- and four-bedroom suites have whirlpool tubs and fully equipped kitchens with full-sized appliances and granite counters. Island Vista has two outdoor pools, one of which is heated when the weather turns cool. The Cypress Room serves a hearty breakfast with eggs your way, omelets, pancakes, ham, bacon, sausage, grits, potatoes and more. The restaurant specializes in low-country cooking, a regional coastal cuisine of the Carolinas and Georgia with West Indian, African and Cajun influences. Beef, pork, chicken, fish and seafood will be cooked according to the diner's wishes, whether blackened, grilled or pan fried. Expect plenty of vegetables along with desserts, such as pecan pie with a bourbon crème anglaise topping or raspberry cheesecake.
Oceans One Resort
The two- and three-bedroom accommodations at Oceans One Resort have whirlpools in the master baths. There are also outdoor and indoor jetted tubs on the property. Swim in the indoor pool with a waterfall, and take your turn floating on the lazy river. Kids have a special play area with shallow water. Windows that stretch from floor to ceiling in the guestrooms offer expansive views of the ocean, and some corner rooms have a 180-degree view. Full-sized kitchens for cooking your own meals are included in some of the rooms; for dining out try Angelo's Steak and Pasta or the nearby romantic Villa Romana for upscale Italian dining.
