Motels in Rawlins, Wyoming

Roughly midway between Cheyenne and Rock Springs, Wyoming, Rawlins is a popular overnight stop for people traveling along Interstate 80, which stretches from San Francisco in the west to the New York City suburb of Teaneck, New Jersey, in the east. Travelers looking for reasonably priced accommodations will find them at four Rawlins motels that are conveniently located just off the interstate. All lie within a short drive of restaurants.

Americas Best Value Inn

Just off Exit 215 of Interstate 80, this two-story, 81-unit motel is within driving distance of two area golf courses -- Rochelle Ranch, a municipal course, and Sinclair Golf Club. All motel rooms feature high-speed Internet. Other motel facilities and services include a business center, sauna and complimentary continental breakfast. Although the motel has no on-site restaurant, guests can enjoy lunch or dinner at one of several nearby eateries, including Aspen House, Blake House, Cattlemen’s, Cloverleaf Cafe, Country Fare, Hungry Miner and Rustlers Family Restaurant.

Days Inn Rawlins

This two-story, 118-unit motel, close to Exit 215, lies just over a mile from Wyoming Frontier Prison, a piece of the Equality State’s history and one of the biggest tourist attractions in the Rawlins area. Also nearby is the Carbon County Museum, which chronicles the history of Rawlins and the surrounding countryside. The Days Inn offers a limited number of handicapped-accessible rooms and provides high-speed Internet in all guestrooms. An outdoor swimming pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year. The motel serves a complimentary continental breakfast every morning. Nearby restaurants include China House, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Subway and Taco John’s.

Super 8 Rawlins

Surrounded by the starkly beautiful high-desert country of southern Wyoming, this two-story motel sits on the outskirts of Rawlins just off Exit 211 of Interstate 80. Popular with sportsmen, the Rawlins region offers world-class fishing and hunting. All of the motel’s rooms have high-speed Internet; some also feature microwave ovens and compact refrigerators. Pets can stay with their owners, in smoking rooms only, for an additional fee of $10 per pet per night (as of November 2010). A computer with Internet access is available in the lobby for guest use. The motel provides a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. Nearby restaurants include Big City Bar & Grill, Cappy’s Drive-In, Golden 8 Chinese Restaurant and Split Rock Bar & Cafe.

Travelodge Rawlins

This two-story, 60-unit motel, close to Interstate 80, offers travelers a good base for exploring the attractions of Rawlins and its environs, including the Carbon County Museum and the Wyoming Frontier Prison. Under the motel’s pet-friendly policy, guests can keep their dog or cat in their room for an additional fee of $5 per pet per night (as of November 2010). All motel rooms feature spacious desk/work areas and high-speed Internet; some also have microwave and refrigerator. A hiking and biking trail lies about one-half mile from the motel. The motel provides a complimentary continental breakfast and free newspaper (Monday through Friday) to all guests. Nearby eateries include Aspen House, Cattlemen’s Restaurant, Fat Boys Bar & Grill and Hungry Miner.
