Northern Ireland, which shares the border with the Republic of Ireland, is a country of the United Kingdom. The country is divided by six counties, including County Antrim which is home to the capital city, Belfast, and County Down which rests along the shores of the Irish Sea. The counties listed are home to sightseeing attractions such as the Giant's Causeway in County Antrim and the Old Bushmills Distillery in Country Londonderry.

County Antrim

The eight-story Days Inn Hotel Belfast is centrally located in the capital city of Belfast. The Days Inn is Northern Ireland's largest hotel with 250 guest rooms. The spacious rooms include complimentary Internet access, satellite TVs and either double or king-size beds. The hotel provides a business center, complimentary newspapers and a buffet breakfast. The hotel is a six-minute walk from the train station and a three-minute walk from the Grand Opera House. Overlooking the Giant's Causeway, the Causeway Hotel stands out from the green countryside with its stark white facade and black roof. Built in 1836, the hotel is a World Heritage Site. The 28 rooms are comfortably decorated with light furnishings and plaid bedspreads. Some room amenities include ocean views and private balconies. County Down

Surrounded by the Mourne Mountains, the family-run Avoca Hotel in Newcastle provides 16 guest rooms that are individually decorated in pinks, tans and whites. Rooms include small sitting areas with views of the promenade or Dundrum Bay; some rooms provide bunkbeds. The hotel is directly across the street from the beach on Dundrum Bay. The on-site bar and lounge provide live music during the summer months and a designated dancing area. Overlooking the marina in Bangor, the five-story Royal Hotel Bangor offers 50 rooms with soft yellow hues and double beds. Amenities include satellite TVs and oversize windows with views of the city or marina. The hotel's restaurant, Quays Restaurant, is decorated in oak paneling and tiled floors and offers a seasonal menu. The hotel's main bar, the Windsor Bar, provides karaoke nights, snacks and local DJs throughout the week.

County Londonderry

Located just outside the heart of Londonderry, the Ramada Da Vinci's Hotel is a chic hotel with stained hardwood floors, dark furnishings and deep hues. The spacious guest rooms offer free Internet access, plush furniture in the living rooms and small dining areas; smoking and non smoking rooms are available. The on-site restaurant, Grillroom Restaurant, includes fresh seafood prepared by Chef Declan Hutton. The hotel is only seven miles from the City of Derry Airport. The three-story Best Western Magherabuoy House Hotel is a family-owned hotel located directly on the Antrim Coast. Built in 1860, this one-time estate house and now smoke-free hotel offers 55 guest rooms. The spacious rooms consist of free Internet access, queen-size or double beds and a seating area. A complimentary breakfast is served daily. The hotel's casual restaurant, Cobblers Bistro, provides live music during the weekends. The hotel is within 15 miles of both the Joey Dunlop Memorial Garden and the Old Bushmills Distillery If traveling with children, the Portrush Countryside Center, two miles away, includes fossil hunting and aquatic animals.

County Tyrone

Once a private residence during the late 1890s before becoming the site of Munster and Leinster Bank, the Bank House Hotel officially opened in 2007. This three-story brick exterior hotel consists of 17 spacious guest rooms with wood furnishings and cream hues. Rooms include complimentary Internet access and safes. Coins Restaurant, located on-site, is open for dinner and prepares from a menu of steak, pasta and seafood. The hotel's bar, the Gold Bar, offers live music from local artists every Saturday night. The two-story Glenavon House Hotel is one of the few hotels in Northern Ireland that provides an indoor swimming pool. Other on-site amenities include a fitness center, conference rooms and a hot tub. The 62 rooms are colored in soft pinks, reds and golds. Rooms offer whirlpool bathtubs, dining areas with wicker chairs and oversize windows with views of Cookstown. Nearby attractions include the Drum Manor Forest Park which is home to a butterfly garden, nature trails and two lakes. The park is approximately three miles from the hotel.
