The motels of Napier, New Zealand commonly reflect the laid-back, coastal bay lifestyle of the surrounding community through their decor, ambiance and service. Although on-site recreation is generally minimal, guests still have easy access to local attractions, wineries, restaurants and beaches. Additionally, those who are traveling through New Zealand on a budget will find the overnight rates far more reasonable than that of neighboring hotels in the Hawke's Bay area.

Shoreline Motel

The Shoreline Motel is situated right along the beach and is just a short walk to the town's main thoroughfare, with its boutique shops and cafes. The family-owned-and-operated property features free off-street parking, high-speed wireless Internet connection and private fresh water spa pools. Motel staff is also able to assist in crafting vacations and helping out-of-towners navigate the area. For dining, options like the Nautilus Napier and Restaurant Indonesia are less than a block away. All 38 guest rooms are nonsmoking and include one king or two single beds, fitted kitchenettes, 32-inch LCD screens with SKY TV, DVD players and private balconies with either city or sea views. Second-floor units have access to a shared balcony while those on the first floor have parking at their door. Pets are welcome for a small fee and with manager's approval.

Sunset Court Motel

The Sunset Court Motel lies in close proximity to the Hawke's Bay Airport as well as a family-oriented beach and several fashionable Art Deco-style city buildings. Guests can enjoy a bevy of property amenities, including an outdoor swimming pool, picnic area, barbecue grills, guest laundry and freezer for fishermen with fresh catches. Children can play on the motel's trampoline or in the playground area, while fax and secretarial services are open to business travelers. A continental breakfast with cooked and cold items is served daily, and the hotel owners can recommend any number of quality dinner establishments in town. Guest accommodations feature an oven, microwave, coffee/tea maker, SKY TV and a private bathroom with hair dryer. One unit also has a spa tub.

Marineland Motel

The 100 percent smoke-free Marineland Motel lies close to a number of galleries and wineries, while also serving as a convenient home base for local events like the Harvest Hawkes Bay Wine and Food Festival. Guests can use propertywide Wi-Fi access, a coin laundry and a newly rebuilt children's play area, while PlayStation game consoles are also available for rent. In addition, the property features the only all-season indoor heated saltwater pool in the city and an aviary with several exotic birds. Estuary's Restaurant provides on-site dining, including an extensive wine list and an award-winning beef and lamb dish. Rooms range from small studios with queen beds and kitchenettes to large family-sized apartments with two king bedrooms, full kitchen, two LCD TVs, DVD player and a private driveway.
