Located on the north bank of the Rio Grande River, Laredo is the largest inland port in the United States. This Texas town is home to four international bridges and a railway connecting Mexico to the United States, and its Spanish Colonial architecture and Mexican culture make this an interesting place for visitors. Along Interstate 35, which connects Laredo to the rest of Texas, are several motels where tourists can stop for a rest.
Motel 6 Laredo South
Located just off I-35 at the Mann Road exit, the Motel 6 Laredo South is a clean and comfortable place to stay as a last stop before crossing the border into Mexico or as a place to call home while exploring what the city has to offer. Laredo’s Motel 6 is just a half-mile from one of the city’s most visited spots, the Mall del Norte. Mall del Norte is one of Texas’ largest shopping malls with more than 160 stores and restaurants. The Laredo Convention Center is 3 miles from the Motel 6. The Motel 6 offers rooms with standard amenities including free morning coffee, a laundry facility and an outdoor pool. Wireless Internet service is available in all rooms for a nominal fee.
Super 8 Laredo
The Super 8 Laredo is located just off I-35 on Santa Ursula Avenue just south of downtown. This hotel is convenient to some of downtown Laredo’s attractions, including a historic trolley tour and the Laredo Entertainment Center. In addition, the Super 8 is only 2 miles from the Laredo International Airport. Guests at this motel enjoy a swimming pool, a business center as well as free high-speed Internet service. As with most Super 8 locations, guests here get a complimentary waffle breakfast each morning.
Red Roof Inn
Three miles north of the Mexican border along I-35, the Red Roof Inn Laredo is convenient for those traveling to the international bridges or wanting to explore some of the local attractions. The Mall del Norte is approximately 1 mile away and the local Texas A&M campus is less than 10 minutes away by car. Guests at the Red Roof Inn Laredo will find pet-friendly accommodations at no extra charge. This location has a seasonal outdoor, unheated pool. Rooms include standard amenities including coffee makers and a free "USA Today" available daily in the lobby.
Family Gardens Inn
The Family Garden Inn and Suites looks like a run-of-the-mill motel from the street, but once you pass through the doors you’ll see that the owners have gone to great lengths to landscape and design this property to provide a place where travelers can really unwind. Palm trees and green grass surround the property, in contrast to the concrete landscape of nearby I-35. The motel’s grounds include a swimming pool, three hot tubs and a central covered gathering place where the staff conducts an evening social for the guests six night per week. There also is a kids' playground. The rooms at the Family Gardens include refrigerators and microwaves and some have balconies overlooking the pool area. The hotel is less than 10 minutes by car to the Mall del Norte, the international bridge and many local restaurants.
