Motels in Honolulu, Hawaii

by Kristina Connover

Offering an affordable alternative to more pricey Honolulu digs, economy lodging on Oahu is usually located on the outskirts of the central tourist area of Waikiki, possibly near the airport or other industrial areas of town. Typically low-rise and offering shuttle service or limited parking, they give visitors a choice in accommodations that are less crowded, smaller and usually more easily accessible than the Waikiki high-rises.

The Inn's amenities include a pool deck, TVs, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The diner-style Lance’s Kitchen Restaurant serves three meals a day, while the Canoe Hut Lounge offers traditional Hawaiian drinks such as mai tais, perfect if you just got off the plane from the mainland.

OHANA Airport Hotel

The OHANA Honolulu Airport Hotel is geared specifically toward the needs of airport travelers with comfortable economy accommodations steps from the Honolulu International Airport. Eat at the hotel's Willoughby's Restaurant and enjoy the swimming pool, fitness room and snack store, which all cater to the needs and flight schedules of international, domestic and inter-island travelers. A free airport shuttle and lobby Wi-Fi add to the amenities.
