Henderson, Nevada, a southern suburb of Las Vegas, offers visitors a broad selection of motel accommodations for a respite from the 24-hour glitter and traffic of the Las Vegas Strip, less than a dozen miles to the north. Motels in Henderson also provide an excellent gateway to some of the area’s natural and man-made wonders, including the Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam and the Lake Mead Recreation Area.

Comfort Inn & Suites Henderson

Just 10 miles south of the Las Vegas Strip, this four-story, 127-unit motel is within walking distance of the Galleria at Sunset, which features more than 130 shops. Also nearby is Sam Boyd Stadium, a major area venue for sporting events and concerts by big-name entertainers. For those who want to stay active, the hotel has an exercise room, swimming pool, bike rentals and access to a nearby hiking/jogging trail. Although the motel has no restaurant on the premises, it does provide a complimentary continental breakfast each morning and hosts an evening reception with complimentary drinks. Nearby restaurants include P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, El Jefe, Fireside Steakhouse, Chili’s and Claim Jumper.

Holiday Inn Express Henderson

Only 8½ miles from Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport, this three-story, 101-unit motel is close to the Henderson campus of the University of Southern Nevada. The hotel is a popular choice for business travelers and families with children. The motel’s business center offers the facilities necessary to put the last-minute touches on a business proposal or project, and all motel rooms have spacious desk/work areas and wireless Internet. To occupy younger visitors, the motel provides a Nintendo Wii in the lobby. Families who’d like to have a picnic can take advantage of the motel’s barbecue grills and picnic area, not far from the outdoor swimming pool. The motel serves a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning, and guests looking for a place to have lunch or dinner will find several nearby restaurants, including Macaroni Grill, Marie Callender’s and Carmine’s Instant Replay.

SpringHill Suites Las Vegas Henderson

A good choice for families, groups and visitors who plan an extended stay, this all-suites motel is only 10 miles from the excitement of the Vegas Strip and convenient to the campuses of both Regis University and the University of Southern Nevada. Its 120 studio suites feature pantry areas with microwave ovens and compact refrigerators, as well as sleeper sofas and high-speed Internet. To stay fit, guests can swim a few laps in the indoor pool or work out in the motel’s exercise room. The hotel serves complimentary hot breakfast buffet each morning and hosts an evening reception with free drinks and snacks. Nearby restaurants include Mi Peru and Ernie’s High Adventures Pub.
