    Tucson’s east side is home to some of Tucson’s largest employers, including Davis/Monthan Air Force Base. Many of Tucson’s health services providers and financial services centers are also on the east side. The east side provides close access to Saguaro National Park East and offers proximity to the University of Arizona as well. The area is more newly developed than Tucson’s downtown and offers panoramic mountain vistas. Area motels cater to business and leisure travelers.

    Close to Air Force Base and University

    For Tucson visitors who want to stay near Davis/Monthan Air Force Base and the University of Arizona, the Super 8 at Craycroft Road in Tucson offers weekly rates for extended stay guests. Some rooms have kitchenettes. Pets are permitted with a fee and some restrictions. The Super 8 is located just over one mile from the Davis Monthan Base Exchange, a shopping opportunity for military personnel and their families.

    “Highly Recommended” and Medical Center Focused

    La Quinta Inn Tucson East gets a five-star rating, meaning highly recommended, on Citysearch.com. It is located just east of I-10, less than one mile from St. Joseph's Hospital and also within easy reach of Tucson Medical Center and University Medical Center. Davis/Monthan Air Force Base and the University of Arizona are also in proximity. The motel permits pets with some restrictions.

    Desert Landscaped in a Natural Setting

    Comfort Suites at Sabino Canyon is a hacienda-styled motel with landscaped courtyards and fountains. Like other motels in East Tucson, it provides access to large Tucson employers and services. It is also close to hiking trails in Sabino Canyon, located in the Coronado National Forest. The motel is a smoke-free facility. Guests receive a 10 percent discount at some local restaurants. Pets are welcome with a small fee. Bus and truck parking is available. The property is approved for government travelers on official travel assignments.
