Located at an elevation of 3,300 feet in central Arizona, Cottonwood enjoys a relatively mild climate year round and provides a good base for exploring the region. Notable attractions in and around Cottonwood include the historic Old Town area, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Tuzigoot National Monument and Verde Canyon Railroad. Four Cottonwood motels offer comfortable accommodations at reasonable rates, and still manage to provide most of the amenities that today’s travelers demand.

Best Western Cottonwood Inn

This two-story, 77-unit motel is only a 15-minute drive from the beautiful red rock country surrounding Sedona and the Oak Creek Canyon. The motel offers striking views of nearby Mingus Mountain, which lies within the Prescott National Forest between Cottonwood and the city of Prescott. All rooms feature compact refrigerators as well as high-speed wireless Internet, which is also available in all of the motel’s common areas. Other facilities and services include a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, 24-hour front desk and complimentary continental breakfast. The on-site Casa Bonita restaurant serves Mexican cuisine for lunch and dinner.

Pines Motel

Perched on a hill overlooking the town of Cottonwood and the Verde Valley, this two-story motel provides microwaves, compact refrigerators and wireless Internet in all 25 of its rooms and suites. The motel offers several package deals that combine one night’s accommodations with two tickets to a local attraction, such as the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, dinner theater at the Blazin’ M Ranch and an excursion on the Verde Canyon Railroad. Restaurants close to the motel include Blimpie’s Subs & Salads, KFC, Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n’ Bake, and Randall’s Restaurant.

Quality Inn Cottonwood

This two-story, 51-unit motel puts guests only a short drive from the Verde Canyon Railroad, which offers leisurely excursions through the canyon’s scenic natural beauty between Clarksdale and Perkinsville. If you’d prefer to do some sightseeing closer to the motel, Cottonwood’s Old Town Center for the Arts schedules live performances many weekends. The motel, which is 100-percent smoke-free, provides microwaves, refrigerators and high-speed Internet in all of its rooms and suites. Hotel facilities and services also include a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, business center and complimentary breakfast. Nearby restaurants include Golden Dragon, Hog Wild, La Belle Cafe, Mai Thai, Murphy’s Grill and Nick’s Steak and Crab.

Super 8 Cottonwood

The timeless Southwestern architecture and decor of this two-story, 51-unit motel blends almost organically into the stark desert-like terrain that is characteristic of the region. The motel lies roughly 20 miles northwest of the Montezuma Castle National Monument, which preserves an ancient cliff dwelling constructed by the Sinagua, an early Native American tribe that once inhabited the region. The Super 8’s outdoor pool and hot tub overlook the red rocks of Sedona, and high-speed wireless Internet is available throughout the motel’s rooms and common areas. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning. Restaurants adjacent to the motel include Denny’s, McDonald’s, Ming House, Sizzler and Taco Bell.
