Motels in Cortez, Colorado

by Joe Fletcher

Tucked away in the Four Corners region of Colorado, Cortez offers visitors the chance to see the mountains and desert in a single trip. The town is the gateway to Mesa Verde National Park and mountain resorts like Durango and Silverton are within an hour's drive. Cortez motels offers inexpensive, modest accommodations.

Cortez's southwestern Colorado location puts it within the Grand Circle, the nation's largest concentration of national parks, including Grand Canyon, Arches and Mesa Verde parks. Mesa Verde and other historical and archaeological sites are the main draws of the town, but you'll also find the 18-hole Conquistador Golf Course, Ute Mountain Casino and a city recreational center with pools, climbing walls and other facilities in or near the town. Cortez Municipal Airport is a small airport that serves the city and county.

Cortez Mesa Verde Inn

The Cortez Mesa Verde Inn bills itself as the "most affordable lodging option in the area," as well as "not a cookie cutter motel." The property has a solar heated pool, hot tub, horseshoes and volleyball court, and offers king and double-queen rooms. Most rooms offer refrigerators and microwaves. The inn is pet-friendly and near a path where you can walk your dog. Free continental breakfast is served daily.

Super 8 Cortez
