Champaign might not be as well-known an Illinois destination as Chicago, but it is where you will find the main campus of the University of Illinois. The university attracts more than families visiting student. Sports enthusiasts flock here for its NCAA Division I teams, many of which consistently are at the top of the rankings of the Big Ten Conference. You also will find arts and cultural activities at venues like Assembly Hall and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
