Marriott Hotels in North Florida

by Nannie Kate

The name Marriott was first associated with a soda stand called Hot Shoppes in the 1920s, according to the company history. From that humble beginning, it grew through the decades to become a food-service company and finally a hotel company. Now there are Marriotts all over the world. North Florida boasts a number of Marriotts, with more outlets in the larger cities and additional Marriott hotels scattered randomly in smaller towns.

Courtyard Jacksonville Airport Northeast

The city of Jacksonville, Florida, sits in the upper-right corner of the state. Visitors who come to this port city through the Jacksonville International Airport will find the Courtyard Jacksonville Airport Northeast a convenient mile away. This Marriott hotel's complementary shuttle means there is no need to take public transport to or from the airport. The Courtyard Jacksonville Airport provides restaurant meals for breakfast and dinner and has a lounge area for relaxation. Nearby Mills Restaurant, a half-mile from the hotel, offers a large variety of foods including Italian, steaks, seafood and selections from the Deep South.

Courtyard Tallahassee Capital

Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, sits in the middle of North Florida, making this area is a busy hub for corporate and state business. The Courtyard Tallahassee Marriott is located less than one mile from the Capitol building. Guests will find a hot or cold breakfast available, with other options nearby such as Olive Garden, Applebee's and Chili's. Try the Wharf Express for a seafood dinner, and be sure to bring home a doggie bag; your room will have a microwave and refrigerator. Florida A & M University and the Museum of Florida History are located near this hotel.

Bay Point Marriott Golf Resort and Spa

Tourists flock to Panama City in the panhandle of Florida, a favorite beach destination on the Gulf of Mexico. Golf fans can take advantage of the two championship golf courses, the Meadows Course and the Nicklaus Course, that anchor the Bay Point Marriott Golf Resort and Spa. The resort is much more than just a golf haven. It boasts several upscale restaurants, a luxury spa, and many other activities to keep guests entertained. The resort offers tennis, parasailing, boat rentals, wave runners, kayaks and trips to Shell Island.

Courtyard Pensacola Downtown

Sitting on the western edge of the Florida panhandle, Pensacola is home to the Pensacola Naval Air Station and the Blue Angels. The Courtyard Pensacola Downtown offers breakfast facilities and a lounge for relaxing. This hotel is close to the Pensacola Amtrak station, the Pensacola Civic Center and the Pensacola Opera, and is five miles from the Pensacola Airport. Courtyard Pensacola Downtown offers a full hot breakfast with omelets, sausages, bacon and waffles. Enjoy other meals at nearby restaurants. Outback Steakhouse is just around the corner, and a short distance away you will find McGuire's Irish Pub with a full menu of steaks, seafood and Irish pub favorites.
