How to Make Your Own Printable Posters for Your Bedroom

by Keita Davis, Demand Media

In the eighties the walls of many teens were adorned with posters of the day's pop icons. Posters were generally acquired by purchasing popular teen magazines and tearing out the centerfolds. Today, posters have evolved past the teen wall to become a popular medium for all types of art. Artists, whether professional or hobbyists, make posters of their work to reach a wider audience. Even a novice can create a printable poster in just a few steps. There are several ways to do it, and each method produces a quality poster that you can add to your bedroom wall.

Visit the Adobe Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.net websites for free imaging software. Read the specifics of each alternative and download the software that best suits your needs.

    Step 4

Leave white space around the picture to create a border for your poster.
